Children are expected to wear Holland Junior School uniform at all times during the school year.

The uniform has been kept very simple and inexpensive, so that it is easy to find and buy.

Parents are expected to send their children into school correctly dressed, in clean uniform, and we ask that you inform us by telephone or in writing if for any reason the appropriate school uniform cannot be worn. We do recognise that some families may experience financial difficulties in providing uniform – we have regular second hand uniform sales. If you need help with purchasing uniform please contact the Headteacher who will be happy to discuss solutions. 

Children may wear a single pair of stud type earrings that they must be able to take out for PE and games. Parents must only allow their children to pierce their ears at the beginning of the summer holiday. This ensures children are fully able to participate in PE at the beginning of September (i.e. the earrings can be removed without the ear closing up). No other jewellery may be worn to school, though children may wear watches. Haircuts should be sensible – tram lines, mohicans and dyed hair are not permitted. Children with long hair (touching shoulders) must wear their hair tied back or plaited for reasons of health and safety.

The only items of school uniform that need to be bought via the school are the following –

All other uniform can purchased from your local high street or supermarket.

Please label every single article of clothing your child wears clearly and permanently. Without your child’s name in their clothing they are unlikely to get it back when they lose it!

Children are expected to wear winter uniform from the second half of the Autumn Term through until the end of the first half of the Spring Term. Summer uniform can be worn between the start of the second half of the Spring Term and the end of the first half of the Autumn Term.

Please ensure that your child’s uniform is cleaned regularly, at least weekly, so they may take pride in their appearance.
